My Journey in Technology

My passion for technology began during my time in technical college, where I was introduced to programming languages like **C++** for backend development and **Oracle** for database management. These experiences sparked my interest in using technology to solve complex problems and laid the foundation for my career.

After college, I shifted my focus to **web development**, mastering **HTML, CSS, and JavaScript** to create visually appealing and functional websites. Alongside my technical growth, I honed my skills as a **graphic designer** and **desktop publisher**, blending creativity with technology to bring ideas to life.

Professional Experience

I began my career as a **Technical Support and Customer Service Specialist** at a leading telecommunications company. In this role, I assisted both residential and business customers with hardware and software issues, developing strong problem-solving and communication skills.

When the tech industry faced challenges, I transitioned into the financial sector as an **Online Virtual Consultant** for a major banking institution. In this role, I educated hundreds of businesses and consumers on financial products and services, helping them achieve greater financial security. While I excelled in this position, my passion for technology never wavered.

Returning to My Passion

Volunteer Experience

My passion for helping others started early when I volunteered as a teenager at Grady Hospital, assisting the medical staff on the rehabilitation floor. With encouragement from my mom, who was a nurse, I had the opportunity to work closely with elderly and disabled patients—a rewarding experience that really opened my eyes to the importance of making a difference in someone’s life. Throughout college, I continued giving back by taking notes for a fellow student who was a quadriplegic, and I volunteered with the State of Connecticut Disabilities Coalition, helping to raise awareness and advocate for better resources for individuals with disabilities.

After college, volunteering remained a big part of my life. I jumped at every opportunity, whether through my employers or on my own. One of my most meaningful experiences was tutoring adults in literacy classes at the Coalition for the Homeless, watching students grow in confidence as they achieved milestones like graduation. I also had the privilege of mentoring individuals with disabilities who were working toward starting new careers. Volunteering has taught me that no matter how big or small the action, having the chance to lift someone up or help them reach their goals is truly one of the most powerful things we can do.
